Hello, my name is Abigail, and I am the owner here at Heartily Handmade! I am married to my wonderful husband, Cameron, and God has blessed us with two beautiful children! My husband serves as an assistant pastor, and I am a stay at home mama. I have been creating things for as long as I can remember, and through many months of thought and prayer, Heartily Handmade was born! Those who know me well, know that I love to create. It’s more than just a passion or hobby for me, it’s so ingrained in my personality that you can’t really have Abigail without creativity and imagination! I dream big, but often find myself focusing in on the little things. 

 

Having children of my own, I began to recognize the need for simple, intentional and practical toys and educational tools that can spark the imagination in these little minds, while leaving the door open for innumerable childhood adventures! So, I got to work. I began by making my son an activity cube, entirely crocheted by hand, no pattern in sight! When it was complete, I was so pleased. Then came the basket of felt vegetables; they were the perfect size, soft (great for little hands) and so versatile for many different kinds of play. After creating those little things for my son, I got an itch for something greater, a desire to put meaningful toys into other children’s hands. I became more and more interested in working with felt, and found enjoyment in crafting hand sewn name banners. After a while, I recognized a nudge to start a business. 

 

Heartily Handmade is so special to me, based off of the phrase in Colossians 3:23, “heartily, as unto the Lord.” My desire is to build a business based off of Christian values and dedicated, skillful, handiwork. I believe that God has given me this to be a blessing to other mamas and those who are on the search for beautiful, and special, keepsakes and toys.
